Last Day

Last day of kindergarten. Miss Mary
Reuben on his last day of school.

It is hard to believe, but Reuben finished Kindergarten. Not that he is incapable of doing so, just that enough time has gone by in his life to make something like that possible. Simeon and I are looking forward to spending the summer with him, but we are both dreading September when he will be gone all day.

First day of Kindergarten

This little person of mine is reading now, and pretty well, if I do say so myself. He is great at math. He remembers most everything he hears. He asks smart questions, and wants to know details about everything. He made some great friends, and also had to deal with someone being unkind to him. I think in the end it all worked out, and he doesn't feel bad anymore, it's just me who thinks that kid needs a lesson on including everyone, and not making people feel bad just because lots of kids like him and want to play with him. Isn't it odd that one kid being mean makes you feel like all kids are being mean. Reuben reacted by trying to be the class clown, which showed on his report card, but we got that fixed.

It wasn't as hard on my to have Reuben go to school as I thought it would be. It was much harder on Simeon that we had expected it to be. Reuben was tight lipped about the details of what happened while he was gone, but from what we got out of him he loved school, everything about it. (Except for the recess times where C was being mean).

We moved to MN just in time for our oldest child to go to Kindergarten. How long ago was that?
