Forest History Center

The Library has a free ticket program to the museums in the region, so saturday, we took advantage of the Forest History Center. Justin was impressed. And Reuben loved it. It was the "Be a Lumberjack" Children's day so there were extra special activities. Raisin spitting, Prune in a spoon race, music and dancing, sawing, horse shoe pitching, clearing and setting the table. Reuben was able to work and earn wooden nickles, and then use them to buy little stuff at the end.

The bulk of the Forest History Center is a logging camp set in the winter of 1900. There is a 1936 CCC Ranger Cabin.

I want to visit this museum so bad! I LOVE these kinds of places!

And I reckon I could have totally won the prune in the spoon race (mainly because I think I would say 'prune in the spoon' with more enthusiasm than anyone else - lol!)
