Why it's okay my feet hurt.

We are here at the south rim of the grand canyon, and I thought I better get a few of these thoughts down before they disappear into the void.

At its deepest, the canyon is three empire state buildings deep. I love the empire state building. I find it inspiring. It is so tall, with touches of lovely, and a symbol of human persistence in times of adversity. Where as the grand canyon is a result of nature. Years of forming rock and carving through it. The river still working at it carving deeper a page width a year.

Nature, if you'll allow me, is a result of god. A creation and process set in motion by god to beautify our lives, to inspire us, and to remind us of Him.

Time: time is different for god. We think a page thickness a year is inconsequential. But god knows it is not if allowed enough time. If we can change our perspective those things we are asked to do that seem futile will seem purposeful.

Man is a wonderful entity. We are capable of amazing things, but we are just a type of god. We can create beautiful things, and we should. But we need to take moments to remind ourselves what we are aspiring to be. While we may not be fully capable right now eventually, I believe we will be. Eventually being the operative word. Remembering that god's understanding of time is different than ours. And knowing that He appreciates the width of a sheet of paper. Someday we will see our efforts for what they really were and let's make sure we didn't do it because we were discouraged that it seemed minuscule.

Okay time to go see some more.
