This is the face he gave me after I told him he couldn't pick his nose at Kindergarten.

Reuben stopped co-operating with photos about a year and a half ago. But today was a special day, so he was happy to oblige. I woke him up at 7:30. Did some cuddling. He had peanut butter captain crunch with raspberries and blueberries for breakfast. (I had been hiding the captain crunch for a special occasion.) Then it was brush the wild-man out of his hair, and take some photos so we can always remember the first day of kindergarten.

My cousin's wife made these notebook paper shirts for her daughters, and when I saw it on her blog I bought some white shirts. It was a really fun project, and Reuben loved to paint in the masking tape lines. His name is painted in black sparkle paint, like a pencil. He told me when he meets his new friends, he is going to tell them, "If you want to know my name just read my shirt."

Then it was time to get in the car. We live pretty close to the school, but I didn't want any hick-ups on the first day, so we will walk to pick him up.
