We did it. We got the zoo pass. We just had to consign ourselves to the fact that groceries and rent are cheaper, and zoos are more expensive here than in New York. To tell the truth, the zoo really wouldn't be more expensive, but to get the unlimited rides on the train and carousel it is... and let's be honest, Reuben goes to the zoo for the carousel. Simeon, we discovered, goes to be mildly terrified but very excited about the animals. He does this high pitched squeal thing like he is scared, but wants to keep looking.

It was a lovely day for it. No rain, which I never ever thought I'd have to mention about Utah in June, but there you have it, it didn't rain.

New lion drinking fountain...the one from my childhood was not painted and looked more like carved stone.

Looks like you had a great time. It's been many, many years since I've been there with my family.
