Don't Try this Alone

Having a baby is hard work. Having a baby and a three year old is really hard work. Having a baby and a three year old in New York City is extremely hard work.

I cannot imagine doing this without the help of Grandma and Grandpa. There are just some things you will always need your parents for, because only your parents love you enough to try to help you have a baby and a three year old in New York City.

We've had a personal driver (who has to uncharacteristically listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to keep the blood pressure down.) We've had personal shoppers (who are just as confused by the three different places for everything at Fairway thing.) We've had personal chefs. We've had live-in child care. We've had laundry service.

This is the way to do New York.

I feel bad that it is so hard, but I'm so grateful they are here and helping us through this.

Parents LOVE to help their children :) You really shouldn't feel bad that it's hard - it's pretty much hard for us all - that's why it's a good system that we help each other :)
(He looks adorable! How is Reuben doing? How are you feeling?)

Don't you wish you could keep your parents there with you forever?!?! It sure is nice having the extra hands! Be sure to tell your Dad that he can stop hiding out and come back now...he isn't the new branch president! (haha):) Hope you guys are all doing well and your parents have a safe drive/flight (??) back! :)

I was thinking about you today when I saw a mom with one of those two-kid strollers and wondered how you do get around with two kids in NYC.

Thank goodness you have the extra help during this adjustment phase and it seems like you have a lot of great friends who will be able to continue providing help after the grandparents go home.

Brecken, I'm so glad you've got help at the moment! And I'm sure they're loving it to. How wonderful to have parents like yours.

And I agree - that certainly sounds like the way to do new York :)

lots and lots of love
Tammy

ps how long will they be there?

Not until you have a baby.

(Insert lecture on when that's appropriate.)

How wonderful that your parents were able to come out and help!

Although I can't imagine how all 5 of you are fitting into that tiny apartment...reminds me of the time we had a bunch of friends visit us at our first apartment in Los Angeles...and three of them actually slept UNDER our sofa bed!

Enjoy that blessing of help and togetherness for as long as it lasts!
