Bookends

My parents have the Simon and Garfunkel album "Bookends" (on vinyl even). I find myself thinking about it often. Riverside Park is full of benches filled with "Old Friends." When I see them the song plays in my head, complete with the crackle of the record. And then the best part:

"Time it was, and what a time it was
A time of innocence,
a time of confidences.

Long ago it must be, I have a photograph.
Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you."

Justin said the other day he was glad that we have the kind of photos we have. I am too, because when now is "long ago" that song is going to be playing in my head constantly.

(new photos on the photo blog.)

I've been looking through your blog a little bit, and I have even thought to myself that you have great pictures. When did you get into photography? I'm a little envious...we don't have a great camera, and I've never been one to take great pics.

That's a great photo, Brecken. Love the bright shirt in it! I've been up late working on a photo scrapbook of my mother's eight week visit with us; I'm sending it to her next week. She's getting forgetful, so this will help her remember the fun she has had and the things she has seen. Your post touched a chord with me :) Your photos are a wonderful heritage for you all.

I love ALL of your photos - so talented. You're the one who makes me have all of the 'Hmm, one day I should get into photography' thoughts... :)
