Confession:

We went to see Twilight last night. It was exactly what I expected, and my opinion of the movie is about the same as the book. We waited in line for an hour, we were at the front of the line, and the line wound all the way down to the lobby and around there. It audience was hilarious! I haven't laughed that much at a movie in a LONG time.

The movie was lacking, like the books are, but it was still fun to find out what the fad is all about. And congratulations to a BYU grad, mother of three for making A TON of money. I still think she needed a good editor to reign in her story, and the movie, surprisingly, needed a good editor and a tripod to not annoy me.

This movie is one you should only see in the theater, because if you wait to rent it and watch it in the comfort of your own home you will be completely shocked that it made any money at all. Go see it with 700 fans, and if you are fan scream and sigh all you want, its makes for an entertaining night.

Good to know. I couldn't go yesterday due to my schedule, but don't know who is obsessive here, or who would make fun of it with me.
I may have to wait till Thanksgiving, or even Christmas. But that's okay.

I'm going today with friends. I've not read the book so I'm going without any expectations. I think the experience with the audience will be the best part! Thanks for the review.

Seriously, it kind of freaks me out. My friend sent me this link and I am seriously perplexed about the mental health/intelligence of these people.

That link is pretty funny. It's kind of what it's like living here in Salt Lake City just a few blocks from the famous East High School (High School Musical anyone?) Kids come from all over to have their picture taken there. It's become the second most visited spot in Salt Lake!

Brecken, you make me laugh :) I know there are flaws, but I really enjoyed the books. I've been dreading the movie though - in a 'why do they let certain people even MAKE movies' way. I'm a big believer in separating books from movies in your mind - they're separate medium, and you can't expect them to be mirror images of each other. But after seeing the previews, I'm sort of expecting the movie to murder the books. I'll try and have a sense of humour about it :)
You know what movie I'm really looking forward to though? Baz Luhrman's "Australia"! Bethany gave me tickets to Gold Class for my birthday (do you guys have gold class cinemas there?) and she and I are going to use them for Australia!

I heard seeing Twilight on opening night was like seeing Rocky Horror Picture Show--the audience was what made the movie good. I'm going to wait til it hits the dollar theater on base so I don't feel bad about spending $9.00 on a ticket.
