Side Dish for a Birthday dinner that is a side dish

Justin wants baked macaroni and cheese for his birthday dinner. But, because I am worried about what people think of us (ah.ha.), I have to have some kind of side dish to what I think is a side dish. What is a side dish to macaroni and cheese?

I don't know much about macaroni and cheese, when we were building the house we had hot dogs peas and macaroni and cheese everyday for a whole summer, and I haven't been able to eat it since. So, vegetables is all I got. Probaby green beans.

Any suggestions?

Also, any tried and true recipes? I am planning on using an Alton Brown Recipe, but adding bacon.

A side dish to a side dish should definately come in the form of chocolate.....

or ceasar salad....

or avacado....

or watermellon....

Okay, so those are just my favorite foods....

What about pumpkin pie?! I love that too :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!

PS. Where I come from, we don't get mac and cheese in a box, but it was still a kids meal we grew up on. We did it simple though: Mum would just cook up a bunch of spiral noodles, and then grate a bunch of cheese, and mix the two together. I've yet to find a packet mix that tastes even remotely that good :)

(But I would totally add the bacon!)
