J's Thanksgiving Countdown

November 6th--I am grateful for reading literature as a child and an expansive imagination. Today I can feel the thrill of the child's imagination live on through Reuben's discoveries. At the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens I saw so many things that swept me away to the very first novel I ever read, The Secret Garden, or E. Nesbitt's classic The Enchanted Castle--and I would like to think that Reuben saw those things too.

Brecky,
What do you have to do to be allowed to go into that huge atrium-like room in the middle of gardens?! It gave me the same sense of romance and mystery that you're referring to in this post! I was always secreting myself in some garden corner and pretending that I was a trapped princess who had been abandoned forever, or an orphan who had to live in the forest! (my imaginings were always ramatic with a sigh of tragedy!)
