Using Grandma's Stash

IMG_0636
Lion Brand Pond Friends
My yarn and knitting needles are in storage, but I've found plenty of yarn and some crochet hooks here. This is one of those stacking toys...except the rings are pretty hard to get on the frog tube (as in Reuben and Simeon can't do it), so its a balance the bug rings on Simeon's head toy.

In other sad news, we got the official nope from Mankato. It would've been too good to be true. We are a bit discouraged at the moment.

I always have the hardest time expressing sympathy, because I feel like saying something like, "It'll be okay! It'll all work out!" doesn't quite cut it (even though I think it will all be okay, and that things will work out), but just saying, "Sorry you didn't get the job!" seems heartless. So...those things notwithstanding, I'm sorry you didn't get the job, but Justin is a fantastic guy, and I have complete confidence that someone will want to hire him, and that things will work out for your family. You two are great!

That is adorable. I am always in awe of your craftiness. I just don't have the energy to finish anything--I have all the monster squares done for my quilt, but I haven't sewn them together because I am terrified of sewing machines.

I'm sorry Justin didn't get the job. My dad has been out of work for a couple of years now, and I know how frustrating it is...I hope you guys find something that will make you really happy.

I agree with what has already been said about not wanting to say the wrong/dumb thing...but I do know that Heavenly Father knows what you need and is aware and will bless you. It's just so hard being patient and not knowing what it is he has in mind for you! We are going through similar things ourselves right now. I am sorry to hear that the job didn't work out. You guys are in my prayers that things will work out soon.

The toy you made is super cute! You have such a talent!
Chin up dear! Life is so good even when we are a bit discouraged and disappointed.

How do you manage to make such adorable items? Very cute toy stacker ring thingy.

And sorry about the job. :(
