We are climbing higher, higher

Have you ever noticed how many songs there are about climbing. "Climb every mountain." "We are climbing Jacob's ladder." "Ain't about how fast I get there, Ain't about whats waiting on the other side. Its the climb." okay that last one is a hannah montana song that I have never heard, I'm just saying.

I'm noticing that they were written by people that don't have to climb six flights of stairs. They are written about figurative mountains, and ladders. There is no way that advise to "climb every mountain" is good. It is not half the fun to get there when it is all stairs.

There is no way I would ever choose to climb this many stairs again. I will not move into a building unless they have two elevators, or I live on the second floor, but I love the light at the top, so the building will have to have two elevators.

Complaint over.

When will your elevator be fixed? I can't believe you manage six flights of stairs with two kids. Yikes!

So Machu Picchu is not on your list of things to accomplish before you leave this world?

I read a longevity study on why certain groups of people lived longer than others and one of the factors they found was vertical living (lots of stairs). The good news is you'll live longer. The bad news is you'll have to climb stairs your whole long miserable life.

Ain't no mountain high enough is my absolute favourite mountain song :) No matter what else is going on in my life, when that one comes floating out of a stereo anywhere withing a five mile radius of my ears... I start to smile and dance :)

Sorry your stairs are such a trial :( But when I come to visit, just know that 'nothing can keep me, keep me from youuuuuu'

:)

(Please tell me the elevator will be fixed by April...!)

Hi Brecken! :)

I think you are amazing that you have done SO well with all those stairs. It's not so much the getting up and down the six flights of stairs people - it's doing it with a young baby and small child and all the paraphenalia they entail. You are a strong woman -an impressive woman :) A lesser woman would not be considering even a second floor apartment for the future! :)

I do love the 'climb every mountain' songs though. I am grateful we are asked to climb life mountains - real and figurative. I'd be even weedier if I was never made to reach higher. And I do like the views when you get there.
