Feeling Stupid

Tuesday night I started to feel sick. I thought it was the I-just-had-a-baby pains, but so bad that they were making me sick. I was up most the night in pain. I eat breakfast which I regretted. I prayed that I would make it through music class which I did. But a half hour later it was back with a vengeance.

Justin was gone at a JOB. I had to call him and tell him I need him to come home. I was in pain crying, and Reuben was so sweet. "I love you, Mommy." "I don't like it when you cry." "Did you cut your belly? Did someone else cut it?" "Can I give you a bandaid?" "Will the Doctor give you a bandaid?"

Our dear friends took him, Justin got home, and we were off to the ER. They poked me, the prodded me. They took blood and gave me an IV of anti nausea and pain reliever, then two bags of fluid.

Turns out I have the stomach flu. I went to the ER for stomach flu. I have never experienced anything like it. I'm in constant pain, not just when something needs to come out--who know gastroenteritis could do that. The pain was cut in half by the time I left, but I was still in constant pain.

We took a taxi home, and got a taste of our future...the elevator didn't work. 6 flights with stomach pain is not ideal, but I made it.

My mom says, "its always something." My dad says, "nothings ever easy." I say, "when it rains it pours."

Did you know they ruined lipton chicken noodle soup by putting chicken in it? I'm a little disappointed.

I think they now have Lipton chicken soup with and without chicken. They have a new onion one too.

Oh Brecken! I'm so sorry you're feeling terrible... your story did make me a laugh just a little though :)

I'm with you on the 'when it rains it pours'. I guess you could also add 'It's all copy' which is a favourite quote of mine from Nora Ephron.

The chicken noodle soup was a nice final touch: It's like the time I had the worst day of my life (you remember the email you got about it!), and then walked out to the car at the end of the day to find a parking ticket on my windscreen :)

'This too will pass', and I really do hope you feel better soon :)

Lots of love,
xo Tammy

PS. It's Reuben sweet?! :)
