China Town

Today's adventure was China Town. We went to have Dim Sum at the Golden Bridge Restaurant (50 Bowery). It was pretty darn good, the only problem was they hid shrimp everywhere, this of course is only a problem when you are me and allergic. I'm not a dim sum connoisseur, but it tasted good, the restaurant was pretty clean and had a restroom. The duck feet were by far Alena's favorite. Reuben and I stuck to the pork buns.

We then walked and walked by fish markets, and produce stands, to get to the cheap stuff stores. We found sunglasses for the kids. Reuben was asleep while we were looking at stuff, so he had a great surprise when he woke up and Justin had joined us, and Mommy bought him some sunglasses. I said, "I got you a special thing" pulled out the sunglasses, and he looked up at me with this shocked-I-can't-believe-it-holy-I'm-so-happy. But as soon as he had them on he was a "cool dude." He wore them the rest of the day, pushing them up to his forehead when we were in the shade. It made me so happy to be able to bring such joy with three dollars. They are safely on the desk, we had a little discussion about not breaking them, or leaving them on the floor...so hopefully three dollars will bring joy for the rest of the summer. (A starving student mom can hope.) Talyn found a great pashmina, a "bling bling 6 dollars."

I think Alena must be Chinese or something. She ate pretty much everything.

I love that about surprises! It makes you want to have surprises all the time because it seems to bring so much pure-joy.
Your niece has a pretty big tongue...and I thought she was part Canadian!

PS. I've had mine for about 2 years now, and I wear them ALL THE TIME, so it's very doable :)
