German Chocolate Frosting

I had put "brownie mix" on the grocery list a couple weeks ago, and Justin saw "Triple chocolate" and threw the box in the cart, it turned out to be a cake mix. Nothing against cake, but I'm not going to dirty a dish for it. (I am not complaining, I do not do the grocery shopping, it drives me crazy, and is so frustrating that I would rather go hungry, so I'll have what ever Justin comes home with.)

The other night Justin mentioned that he was going to make that cake, because he had been craving it. And I said, "great, I'll make the frosting." Well, he ended up making the frosting too, because Reuben wanted me to hold him, not daddy.

1 cup evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

In medium sauce pan whisk evaporated milk and egg yolks together, add sugar and margarine. Heat over medium low heat, stir constantly. (Gradually turn the heat up when it starts taking too long) Let it boil for a while, and remove from heat, stir in vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Spread over chocolate cake (can even still be warm.)

(thank you allrecipes for the plethora of recipes that we combined and morphed into what we made.)
