blob the second compaired

I know I don't owe you an apology, or even an explanation but I feel compelled to explain why my usually intriguing blog is getting boring.

With Blob (Reuben), I had an easy first trimester. My feet hurt. I was tired. And I got head aches. I elevated my feet at work, I crawled under my desk and took a cat nap when I needed it, and once I was home from work I could make all the sound and light go away and lay with ice on my eyes and a heating pad under my upper back. The headaches continued to the end, the heart burn (and reflux) started in the second trimester. I didn't ever get nauseous or throw up until the last trimester.

With Blob the Second (Current) I have been shocked at what pregnancy can do to you. I have been nauseous almost constantly. It seems to be easing up, but the head aches started, and with a three-year old you can't turn off the lights, and the sounds, and lay with ice on your eyes and a heating pack on your upper back. You have to suffer until the headache makes you feel like you are going to pass out, and THEN after bed time you can try to relieve it. I guess, considering, I didn't get home some nights until 7:30 this isn't much different then the blob headaches, but if you can believe it, the three-year-old affect on a headache is worse than work and a commute. Something about the gleeful screaming, jumping, climbing, constant touching, poking, and nuzzling.

With both--my ability to type, and think clearly was (has been) reduced by 75%. So when my natural ability to spell was already below average you can imagine how much time this adds to my usual 15 minute posts.

Now, I am not complaining. I want this. The "incomplete" feel that has been attacking me for the last several months is gone. And, I have yet to pray that the symptoms will go away, (although I do beg that I will have the strength to deal with them). I am very excited, and find time to sit quietly just in case I'll feel a flutter (its still a little early for that, but you know what I mean).

The things I've been thinking about posting but not:

  • My theory on the third wave of feminism, and where I fall on the spectrum.
  • I made cream puffs. They were delicious and beautiful, and pretty easy.
  • I taught Reuben to say "Onomatopoeia" and what it means, and I caught it on video the day he surprised Justin with his mad word skills.
  • I beat Justin on predicting Oscar winners. I have to say I liked this one, it seemed more concise, and didn't have the dumb voice over of "this is the 15th nomination and 6th win for..." There were no uncomfortable jokes, because of all the Hugh Jackman singing and dancing, and I'd take that anyday (although, whose idea was it to invite High School Musical, and Edward? to be on stage?) My prize, I get to pick the next FIVE Netflix movies, its a good thing I know the academy are a bunch of "commie, homo-loving sons of guns" because I don't have to watch a superhero movie, action flick, or really weird foreign film for FIVE movies!

Here's my plug to eventually write that post on feminism when you're feeling better. I want to read it...and probably comment.

So, since I don't technically *know* you I don't know if you want sympathy or not. If you do I can give you tons! I had three horrendous pregnancies and if commiserating if what you want I've got tons of stories. Otherwise, can't wait to read the posts you have going on in your head!

I hope this first trimester passes quickly and that the next two go more smoothly for you. Mom's with multiple children are my heroes! I have a hard enough time trying to take care of myself, Chris, and the dog--much less adding a toddler to the mix!

P.S. I agree with Talyn. When your baby brain has gone away a little bit, you should post about feminism. :)

Aaah, good luck with the headaches!

I will third (or is it fourth) the feminism post.

As well, I really really loved your description of the Academy.I laughed outloud, here at a public computer!

I myself didn't get to watch the awards, and am sad only because I didn't get to see Mr. Jackman. He was fabulous in Oklahoma!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well Brecken :( But I'm so excited to meet Blog the Second one day :)

I like this year's oscars too! Much better than the last several (except for some of the more ranting speeches, which I really didn't like). See what happens when america lets the aussie's have a go? :P

But yeah, what's with Edward and HSM?

xo Tammy

Feel better soon. I hope the headaches go away. I hate headaches, and I'm sure they're worse with pregnancy and a noisy toddler. Just be glad you don't teach 7th grade. That would definitely not help.

You are amazing! I see you almost every day and you just suck it up and deal with being sick! I wouldn't be able to tell that you felt like that! If it were me I'd be complaining a lot more, I'm afraid!
