Reuben Bug, Mommy Bug, A Boy, A Baby, and An Angel

I decided we would really really have a treasure hunt. We walked all over the park, and searched around trees, and in bald spots in the grass. We did find some rocks, and dug most of them up with our treasure sticks. We brought them home and washed them. Reuben put half of them in his potty while I was looking for a towel to dry them off. Then we painted them. Okay, I painted, Reuben picked out the colors for the ladybugs and then got distracted. After they were done, Reuben named them all. It was such a hit we might try and do it again.

Reuben played with the bugs for the rest of the day. Screaming and yelling "Ah! a bug crawling up my _______." for every body part he knows the name of. He was excited to show daddy when he came home, and repeated the same names when he was telling daddy what each rock was.

Brecken - that's wonderful :) I love how creative you are! I remember painting rocks with my mum as a kid :)

Maybe you could make him a 'prayer rock'. You know those - you put them on your pillow in the morning, and then you'll remember to say your prayers before you go to bed at night. Then you put it on the floor, and when you get up in the morning and stub your toe, you remember to say your prayers and put it back on your pillow :)

I still have my prayer rock. It's gold and has eyes, and a red bow :)

PS. Sorry I've been slack! I've caught up on my comments ;)

Such a cute idea! You should write a craft book for stay-at-home moms so they have tons of activities to do with their kids, because some of us have absolutely no idea what to do with small children. Oh wait, I'm talking about myself... :)
