Washington DC: Day One

Reuben loved the bus ride down. He looked out the window for the first hour, he watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Ipod until the battery ran out. He ate vanilla wafers. He cuddled with mommy and fell asleep. He didn't try and escape from his seat, or scream, or cry. It seems he likes to travel above ground, and surrounded by trees and sky. We get to add New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia to our list of states we've been to.

You know you've been in New York too long when you think Washington moves at a slow pace, is friendly, affordable, open, and not crowded. We walked to the Capitol with our suitcase and stroller. Then our host found us, and we went to the Holocaust Museum, Jefferson Memorial, and then home to play games.

I hadn't thought about the whole 'travel underground' thing... hmmm.... maybe there is ONE thing I wouldn't like about NYC...
:)

So glad you got to go on a real live holiday!

PS. What was the Holocaust Museum like? I imagine it would be hard, but I've always wanted to go there.
