Its official.

I told my work that I would be leaving them in May.

I've been working for WGU my whole professional life (which wasn't very long it started in 2004). I was very lucky to find them, and I was even luckier to be granted the opportunity to work from home for them (which was a huge blessing, and exactly what we needed for the last two years, and I am very thankful for all the sacrifices they made to allow me to do it the way I needed to.)

We've been trying to figure out how I could work less ever since we've moved here. I have been stretched extremely thin, and my sweet husband has been very, very worried, but not as worried as I was about finances. Considering I made a non-profit (WGU is a non-profit) Utah salary I was basically working for the insurance and grocery money. Its pretty overwhelming to work full-time from home with a two year old who is learning to assert himself and not taking naps. It has become progressivly harder to feel like I had honestly worked 40 hours a week, but still, I felt like I wasn't doing anything but work.

The MusikGarten Teacher is moving to D.C., so I am going to take over! I'm so excited! (I am using ! which means I mean it.) I'll be doing the training this summer, Courtlin is going to come be our nanny as I go to Long Island. It won't be a lot, but it will be something, and on the path to the career I wanted before I tried to trick myself into this editing thing.

Oh Brecken! What fabulous fabulous news! As I was reading about your decision to leave WGU, I was worrying about your finances! I definately think it's the right thing for you to do, but I was thinking 'that will take a lot of faith - I hope they're okay' and then when I read about your NEW job, I thought 'wow! see what blessings come when you take a leap of faith!'
So congratulations, I think you'll be fabulous doing the MusikGarten thing, and I'm excited to think how much happier you'll be.
I love you girl!

Congrats on the new job! I had no idea you worked full-time. That must be incredibly taxing.
