Monkey Number One

With most of the credit going to Jessica, who fulfilled my sock request, Reuben has a monkey! I think the next monkey will have buttons for eyes, because the the embroidered eyes are what took the longest. Reuben has not seen the finished product, as I had to wait until he was asleep so I could work on him. We watched the second disc of the second season of Monk, and had a wonderful time. It felt good to work on something, this is my first stuffed toy I have ever finished, I came very close to finishing a sunflower doll, but then I decided to do little ribbon loopes, and the doll sits, half-ribbon looped in a bag of things I have yet to finish.
Now I think I will go to bed.
I'll try to get a photo of Reuben and the monkey tomorrow.

Brecken I love it! It looks more like a monkey than a pair of socks, so that must mean that you did a good job! :)

xo Tammy

PS. look forward to the pictures of Reuben playing with it!

Wow! I'm so totally proud of you for the monkey and how fast you finished it! It's darling. But don't be disappointed if Reuben doesn't pay the slightest attention to it. Kids just sometimes don't get it that "Mommy spent so much time making it for you so you better like it!"

P.S. How long do you think it'll take Jessica to make her quilt?

It is GREAT!!!

The embroidering was love time well spent. Buttons can come off and be swallowed.

Gayle is right I made some dolls that my oldest did not play with. So I gave them to the DI and was sorry years latter when I had several other girls to play with them.

You were up past midnight! Where has Brecken the sleeper gone?!?!

Just kidding. That monkey is adorable. I wish I could make one. I guess I could, but I'm intimidated by the idea. Hmm...

PS- I loved Sister Beck's talk, too. It really inspired me to be better at keeping my home (and life) in order...

It looks awesome. I'm highly impressed. And while I resent my mom's implications that I'm never going to finish my quilt (I actually am making good progress on it, thank you very much), I have to say that you are much more artistic than I am, and I'm glad I can take some credit for the monkey in the form of having provided the socks.
