Belgian Raspberry Beer

When we got our groceries this week, Justin was so kind to put them away. When he was working on the last box he yelled, "Uh.... hey.... Brecken? Did you accidently order beer?" I said, "No, I didn't even order juice this time." (In case you didn't know, niether of us drink alcohol for religious and family history reasons). I checked my online receipt, and I didn't order the beer, and then we checked the slip we got with the groceries and they didn't charge us for the beer. Justin put it in the fridge while he thought of things we could do with it.

The other day I wanted the room that the beer was taking up, so I was going to dump it out and put the bottle in the recycleing. I took the pretty foil off, then realized I needed a bottle cap opener. We don't have one of those, so I used steak knife. (have you tried to do that before? its really hard.) When I finally got the cap off, what did I see, but a CORK. We didn't have a bottle cap opener so do you think we had a cork screw, you are right, we don't have a cork screw. (I think we used to have a pocket knife with a cork screw on it, but it was rusty so it was one of the things we left in Utah.) Now the beer is taking up precious counter space until I get fed up with it and just bring it down to the recyleing full.

The moral: You never know when you are going to need that pocket knife, so don't let it get rusty. Or, if you never want fancy alcohol opened in your home, don't have a cork screw.

I love it! Why didn't you just send it back?! haha! Mostly, I just love it that when justin couldn't htink of what to do with it, he put it in the fridge :)

Buy yourself a corkscrew :)

you totally should have just given it to the neighbors and explain how you ended up with it to them. It could have been a great introduction to why you don't drink...what a great missionary opportunity.
